If you’re looking for a new way to get your daily fruit intake and also get a little fancy with your breakfast, we’ve got just the thing for you! Delicious combinations of tart, sweet and salty flavours all come together with these two types of apple toast: Tahini-Honey Apple Toast and Fig Apple Toast with Feta and Walnuts.
It’s 2018, go on and add some other great toasts to your next weekend brunch table.

TAHINI-HONEY APPLE TOAST
- Slice of whole wheat or white bread, toasted (we suggest using a crustier, bakery-style bread for this recipe, definitely adds more of a crunch factor than that soft Wonder bread)
- 1 tbsp. tahini
- 1 tsp. natural honey
- 1/4 apple, sliced (we prefer Granny Smith apples for a tart flavour to contrast the sweet honey)
Spread tahini on toast, top with sliced apples and drizzle with honey. That’s it! Feel free to add more delicious and healthy toppings like flax seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds, sesame seeds, etc.
FIG APPLE TOAST WITH FETA AND WALNUTS
- Slice of whole wheat or white bread, toasted
- 1 tbsp. fig preserves
- 1/4 apple, sliced
- 1 tbsp. feta cheese
- 1 tbsp. chopped walnuts
Spread fig preserves on toast, top with sliced apples, feta cheese and walnuts. Enjoy your salty, sweet and tart breakfast or snack!
